Ms. Laura Adkins
Hello! I’m Laura Adkins and I teach Physical Education at Northside Elementary School of the Arts. I have been teaching for 29 years. I had an amazing first year teaching at St. Anne Catholic School before coming to Northside where I have enjoyed teaching for the last 28 years.
I was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC and attended Ebenezer Elementary, Sullivan Middle, and Rock Hill High. I received my Bachelor ‘s degree in Physical Education from Gardner-Webb College and my Master’s degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College.
I enjoy teaching Physical Education because you get to teach kids activities that will hopefully motivate them to be active for a lifetime. And there is nothing better than to hear a kiddo say, “I did it”, and see their excitement…those moments make my day and it’s why I love to teach.
I love all sports and enjoy cheering on my favorite teams: Charlotte Hornets and North Carolina Tarheels…Go Heels! In my spare time I love to take pictures, play drums, go for walks, cook, shop, go to the beach and hang out with my family and friends.
