CREATE Scholarship Program
The SC-CREATE scholarship program, sponsored by the SCDE Office of Special Education Services prepares current General Education teachers or individuals who hold a non-education Bachelor's degree in any major with no teaching license, a path to become a professional special education teacher. 

The mission of CREATE is to build capacity and grow the Special Education Teacher workforce. The CREATE program also has funds to assist full-time employees, in and out of the classroom, in SC public schools with obtaining add-on and PACE-SpEd licensure.

If you are in one of the following groups and desire to serve students as an Exceptional Student Education/Special Education teacher, please apply for the CREATE Scholarship:

General Education Teachers (who are seeking a career change into Special Education)

Special Education Teachers (who are being required to add-on another SpEd area)

PACE-ED/LD/MC Teachers (who need to complete three required licensure courses)

Teacher Assistants (who hold SC educator licensure in a GenEd area)

Non-instructional Staff (who hold SC educator licensure in a GenEd area)

Teachers of Tomorrow (who hold a LD or ED certificate)
